Website Contact Info Addition
I'm thinking about adding my cell phone number and mailing address to my web page, behind a reCaptcha or something similar of course. The phone number is already in my Facebook info, nor can I actually be located via the mailing address.

Poll #1559437 Website Contact Info Addition

Should I add my cell phone number to my website (provided it is properly anti-botted)?

Google Voice

If you want people on your website to be able to call you, you can use Google Voice's call widgets. I haven't used them, but it looks like you add a button to your page and when they click it, Google will call them, and then call your phone. People can still call and talk to you, but they never actually get your phone number.

Re: Google Voice

That could be an option, and a useful use of Google Voice if I had it.

My primary use-case for thinking about putting it on the website is for reference. A way for someone to grab it now and call later (although preferably text) when they need/want to.

I really don't want complete strangers calling at all hours of the night for no reason, but then I don't know how likely that actually is. I don't think it's likely. (If I recall correctly someone mentioned Google Voice has a way around that situation too)

I've decided that privacy is an illusion, and we'll all be happier if we realize it.

If people wanted those things they could e-mail you and ask.

I'd like to think that were true, but I've found that unless it's offered and/or explicitly given to them specifically then they don't bother. It's like most just think they're not worth the time, attention, or effort? *shrugs*

Then again that alone won't stop them from never actually calling or texting XD

Way over thinking this. haha
