Job Search Update: Staying Busy
I've been applying for more positions as I find them from various sources. It's only a matter of time, a very short time, before my bank account croaks. I've fired off my resume to a couple of listings on StackOverflow and one on Craigslist. I've gotten blasted with a couple of jobs listed on another job site called CyberCoders, one of which I've submitted my information for.

This morning a recruiter said the company was looking for more details so I created a two-page resume with a long list of responsibilities and accomplishments from my last job. Everything from the work in PHP5/MySQL/JavaScript to customer communications to team activities to working with production services. I'll update or create another version of the resume on my website containing the new content in bullet-point form.

I'm working on creating a cover letter for a lead position deviantART has available using the detailed resume version. It better showcases how I started taking a technical lead role at my last job.

I found a Google job listing on Craigslist and have started filling out an application for a couple of their open positions. I'm way out of my league and using the entirely wrong language, but I'm going to try anyway. I need to create a cover letter that really impresses them with my enthusiasm to work with them. It's something I've wanted to do for years now.

One of the previous positions responded with links to their core product and have requested I review the material. Once I've gotten an idea of what they're doing and how it could work with my skill set we'll figure out if that might work.

Current Mood: busy busy

Seattle Google just fired a dude for checking out kids emails. You could snap up his job, probably, if you promise not to be a pedophile.

Hahaha! I've been hearing a little about that in various places. It would be funny if I ultimately ended up in his position.
