The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
Question on The Great Gatsby:
What does The Great Gatsby say about American life abd society in the 1920s? Is Fitzgerald presenting a positive picture of life in twenties America, or is he criticizing the values and actions of people in the twenties? Make sure your essay discusses Fitzgerald's interpretation of the historical period as well as including examples from the actual historical period. Be sure fully explain your examples. Make sure your paper presents an argument and supports it with examples, both from the novel and the lectures. The paper should be about three pages, double spaced, and typed (if at all possible).

[Edit: Anyone want to donate the paper on this? Cause, ya know, let's face it, I'm royally screwed. I'm a bumbling jumble of thoughts and I can't seem to straighten them out long enough to focus on this stupid paper.]

I think I did that paper. How's your bullshitting skills? Do you know which answer the teacher wants to hear?

My bulling skills are pretty pathetic, and I have no idea what answer the teacher wants other than lots of details.

I've had the SparkNotes and Word open for the past few hours and I haven't really touched either of them. I'm feeling majorly overwhelmed on what to start with or what to write.

Hm. Choose an option first. Me, I'd choose the moral criticism one. Then go find a bunch of quotes that can back it up, and put 'em together in a fairly logical order.

Make an outline first if you can manage. Theyhelp.

You're the second person to tell me that they love the novel. Everyone else (about half a dozen people) tell me they hate it.
