Ctrl+Alt+Del - Scott & Ted

Stream of Thought - the best method (at least for me)

It's so early that almost no one is up. Go me.

Let's hope this sleeping at night thing doesn't become a habit again. I rather liked staying up all night.

First class of English Composition II went well. I'm tempted to get a laptop now and bring it to class. I'll have to avail myself of my GameHavoc advice privileges to see if the local rent-to-own store is actually giving a decent deal with their rent-to-own laptops.

I had company yesterday afternoon, which is why I didn't get back to sleep after the Orkin people left and I finished the mailing list. Company needed to talk and I certainly wasn't going to turn them down. Well, I did turn them down just not that way, but we're not going there. ;-)

I wonder if my math teacher would let me bring a laptop into class... I guess I'll find out this evening. My math class is from 5pm to 6:30pm Monday and Wednesday. Not hard at all, no? :-P

We talked about Sophocles in class last night and he's an even better perfectionist than me. I can't seem to be better than anyone, at least not in my eyes. I get arrogant about trying, but in the end I'm always out-shined by someone.

No impulse buying here. No sir.

So much for impulse buying. =\

The laptops that Rent-A-Center have are pieces of junk that they want lumps of gold for. They want $1200 for a Dell Inspiron 1100 or $31.99 a week for 12-18 months ($1535.52 - $2303.28).
Uh, no.

I found a sweet little deal on NewEgg for a good Acer laptop for less than $1000 after taxes, but the only way I could afford it is if I could make payments on it, at least for the first three months. I tried doing the BillMeLater with no payment for 90 days option, but they apparently refused me.

*sigh* So much for having a laptop without having a huge lump of cash to hand over.

Laptop Purchase; to or not to

With the start of classes, and an English Composition class at that, I've once again become very tempted to buy a laptop. I mentioned this to my sister and she has agreed to try using her credit to help me out here, since BillMeLater, at least at NewEgg, has a 90 days no payment no interest option. I have $90 a week coming in from the business and if I put $60 of that toward the bill I could have it paid off in a little over three months. If I wait the 3+ months to save it up this semester will be almost over by then.

Not only would I like it for school but I'd love it for around the house as well. If I could lay on the couch and work or lay in bed and code, I think that'd be really great. No more slaved to the desk and sitting in the chair to be on the computer.

The desire to have a laptop (it's pretty much my biggest desire, at least as far as monetary things go) and do those things is really warring with my desire not to get in debt. I know I could pay it off but that's isn't really a "smart" thing to do. But I want it! >_<

Poll #655318 Laptop Purchase

So. Is it really worth it, or am I just rushing it?

It sounds like it will be worth it, go for it
It sounds like it will be worth it, but you should probably wait anyway
You're rushing it, just keep waiting
You're rushing it, but go ahead and get it anyway

Pie! (gratuitous text)
