Jewelry: Paying someone for attention / sex

The downside of staying in a hotel room is occasionally turning the TV on and being reminded that commercials are a thing. Frequently. One commercial in particular got a raised eyebrow and head shaking from me.

The commercial starts off with a couple at dinner together, supposedly a valentine's special occasion. The woman is busy texting on her phone not paying any attention to the guy. He then picks up his phone and texts her a picture of his face and 'Honey, look up'. He then presents her with a box containing some jewelry from brand blah-blah-blah. The commercial ends with someone taking a film of the two making out.

1. If your significant other is too busy playing with their phone on your romantic dinner date to pay attention to you then you've got problems.
2. If you have to buy expensive jewelry to get their attention then you've got problems.
3. If the only reason they're making out with you is because you've gotten them bling bling then you've got problems.

Congratulations, you have a trophy wife / are in effect paying someone for attention / sex.
