The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective

A couple of nights ago was busy, just not busy enough.
There was a flurry of activity here a couple of nights ago, starting about seven. It started when I put on some water to make green tea for Stephen because he said he felt like he was getting sick and would need it. After that I dealt with the dishes, putting away the clean ones in the dish washer and putting in a new load. I also washed and dried the rest of the towels, and washed the cloths hamper because it was starting to smell mildewed. I made a couple of pie crusts and baked a couple of pumpkin pies to use up the rest of the already made filling. I put the rest of the pumpkin in the stock pot to cook, and also washed the rest of the big dishes by hand.

Whitney was ready to go home so Stephen felt safer to let me drive her home rather than walk with her to her dorm and back. I drove her back and returned safely. *nod* Nothing to worry about there, although I was a little stiff and unused to Stephen's car.

Afterwords I drew up a tub of water for Stephen to take a bath in. Problem is it didn't stay hot because I put cold water in it as well, so I boiled up a couple of pots of water and added those. I took the pies out of the oven and turned the pumpkin on the stove off, then went back to the bathroom to sit on the [closed] toilet and talk to Stephen while he soaked.

All in all, I got a lot done. Overall, though, I didn't get enough done. The floors still need swept and mopped, the stove needs cleaned off, and the carpets need to be vacuumed, especially now that we have a better vacuum with a hose. The worst part is I haven't really gotten anything else done since then. That means the dishes are stacking up, the pumpkin hasn't been puréed, and the towels haven't gotten folded yet. Stephen is too busy with school and work to be up to doing any of them so I have to get off my butt and do at least the dishes, pumpkin, and towels today. The dirty dishes have filled the sinks and spread onto the counters as well, so if nothing else that has to be done considering that for every dish in those sinks, one less that can be used in the cabinets.

I'm going to play some Smash Bros and maybe some Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing (I haven't played that in ages). Which reminds me, last night Stephen and I ordered Mario Kart: Double Dash from Half.com. After shipping it's only $31, which is a pretty good deal considering brand new it's between $40 and $50. The price will be split between Stephen and myself and Whitney and Nick. It's also being shipped from Texas so it shouldn't take long at all to get here, once the shipper has confirmed the order, which should be today.

Whitney just signed on so I'll talk to her a bit then head for the GameCube. Next entry will have some apologies for people I've let down and/or put on delay.

I didn't realize ya'll were getting the game so soon. When Nick pays me, I will give you thirty bucks. (20 for food and 10 for the game.) I can't wait until it comes in. I miss it.

Well, Stephen wanted to play a game with you last night, I'm guessing as not to leave you out of the loop and so we'd all have something we could play together. I happen to agree that we do need something mutually agreeable to do together, and Mario Kart: Double Dash is one of the few things we all agree on when it comes to games.

Being that it would only cost $10 each I didn't see any reason we should wait longer before getting it. It's not like we're extremely desperate for money at the moment so even if you can't pay anything for a while that's fine. *nod*

... *hug* :-)
