The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
I fooled around today (Don't worry, work safe)

To view it in its full color depth and size, download the avi in a zip. (~2MB)

Comments, please? Should I rearrange them, make all the backgrounds grey/white, ... want one of your own? (I'm willing to do commissions ;) ... or just for free. I doubt anyone would pay for this)

That's kinda cool.

I could easily see using that technique to create a comic.

I updated the AVI to show it in its full size and color depth, as well as changed the ending of the animation.

To create a comic, eh? Hmm, how do you see that working for regular comics? It took several hours to make the head of one person, with all of the shading, blending, and layering.

Well, it's labor-intensive now, but I bet you could refine it to be more efficient. Do a talking-head sort of comic, perhaps, or a style that reuses images easily.

Or keep it as it stands and do short art pieces that take months to create.

I always wanted to create a comic, or just draw one. The problem is, I don't have any content or subject to make it of, and I'd be doing it for the wrong reason, to be recognized.

On the other hand, I could create something and try to go with it from there, hoping the jokes and what-not come naturally.

I try to do too many things at once.

Create a theme. Create characters that are "real" to you. Put the characters in situations. Have them do what they would do, you know, because they're real.

"Funny" isn't the only kind of comic, either.

(This is a long-delayed comment, as I've been putting off a lot of things. You're under no obligation to reply)

Thanks for your support and thoughts. I'll keep them in mind and I'll definately go for it should anything look like it'll work. Right now I'm going to concentrate on the one skill I know I have; programming [in php].
