The absolute value of marriage
I just read on a guy's site his "beliefs". He had one up on gay marriage so I thought I'd take a look. Not a pretty sight to see. It basically said (several times over using the same reasoning) "If gay marriage is allowed my straight marriage won't mean anything because the absolute value of marriage will have changed. If the absolute value of marriage can change then there is no value in marriage." He's not even married yet, and won't be till September. Insecure much?

Reminds me of a kid. "Mine! Mine! Mine! You can't have!"

PS: The song is kind of fitting. heh

PPS: I thought I had a "amused" icon. huh

Zero Sum People

You're right. One of the saddest parts of human nature is its desire to see other people suffer, be deprived of something, or in someway be negatively effected. I read somewhere recently that many successful people agree with the statement, "It's not enough for me to win, other people have to loose."

The good news is that not everyone is like that. Avoid the ones who are. Seek out and only love, trust, and respect those who understand that life is not a zero sum game. They do exist. We just have to learn to find them.
