The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
Doctors are worthless (for anything less than surgery)
I'm am so very annoyed, bordering on being ticked off. I hereby officially form the opinion that doctors and the medical profession are worthless for anything short of actual surgery.

I just had my appointment with the doctor about my skin rash. I went there a few minutes before the appointment to fill out the paper work and then a few minutes after two they actually called me back. I then sat in the waiting room for the next thirty minutes or so until the doctor was finally ready to see me. The doctor comes in and I tell him about the rash on my hand, the slight mucus/whatever buildup in my nose over time, the dryness of my face after taking a shower and how the forehead burns if I rub it any for a few hours, and how I can feel air on the back of my throat when I breath through my nose that quickly drys out my throat.

To all that his response basically revolves around "you're dehydrated" / "you're not getting enough liquids". The rash on my hand? Dermatitis / something-or-another; apply a moisturizer daily and it'll clear up but it'll never really go away. The nose thing? Prescribe a decongestant; it's the weather. The throat thing? The air is dry from the heaters; drink more liquid. The forehead thing? I don't see anything right now but it might be something or another; moisturize it.

So basically I need to soak in a tub of moisturizer on a daily basis. -.-'

*strangles the air*

Edit to add: For the ten or fifteen minutes he was with me it was $65. Dagnabit, I feel ripped off. I want at least some of the money back cause it was so not worth it.

Put a moist-air vaporizer (not a hot-air/steam type.. one of the "mist" types) in your room at night. This should help with the dry throat.

in general, for dry skin or skin allergies:
Once or twice a week, soak for 20-30 minutes in a warm bath with aveno oatmeal. You can get it in the drug store.

Take a daily vitamin with plenty of Vitamin E, and go to GNC and get some high quality fish oil. Take that once daily with plenty of water. That will help both the dry skin and the irritation.

Not sure about the forehead. It could be that your skin is just dry and you need to keep it more moisturized. It could be contact dermatitis or an alergy to something else you've got on your hands.

Stop using the soap you are using. Try changing to a good unscented soap with lots of moisturizers. Try to get something that says "hypoallergenic". Don't use "deodorant bars" anywhere but under your arms and other places that could use deodorizing :) Almost all deodorant soaps are overly harshed and contain irritating perfumes.

The same problem cropped up for me about a year ago. Dermatitis was the first diagnosis and then it got changed to a type of ezcema. The only benefit to going to the doctor was a little peace of mind and the 2 minute grope of my wang.

You had your wang groped when you went to the doctor about a skin condition? ... the condition was on your wang? Interesting. I didn't even get my hand held, course I don't think I'd be particularly interested in this guy touching me sexually, mind you.

My dick was fine. I had some spots on my elbows and on one of my thighs. He was just copping a feel to be thorough.
