The heck is wrong
The heck is wrong with the internet? Ever since some time last night I've been having problems with everything pulsing in and out. One moment I'll have a connection and the next I'll be dead in the water. I've watched my IM client reconnect every five or ten minutes, which is probably very annoying to anyone who has their sound on.

I've been having trouble connecting to LiveJournal all day as well. Sometimes I've had better luck getting my friendsfriends and filtered friends page than my default friends page.

I have reason to believe the wireless router may be going out. I know we've started having conflicts between our wireless phone and the router (They're both 2.4GHz!). What's weird is that they haven't been conflicting, until now.

that happens hear all the time unfortunately,
it's weird and erratic when it occurs, but
i just place all the blame on the phone.
Have you tried changing to channels 1 or 11?
i find that helps a great deal.

in my case, my wireless connection only breaks
when the phone is turned on, and only then.
besides that, it doesn't always occur, i believe
it's because of my phone's DSS technology; it
sometimes clamps it's signal onto my wireless device
for better reception, other times, it'll clamp
onto something else. It's a panasonic.

i also place blame on the router make.
i used to love linksys, until recently
i've switched to netgear and westell (the
default router/brand sent by my isp, Verizon)
and that changed dramatically, reception
is far more superior and drop outs are
hardly an issue only when the phone is used.

LinkSys went a bit downhill after they got bought out by Cisco, sadly.

The 2.4GHz cordless phones are well-known for having a conflict with 2.4GHz wireless routers, for reference.

oh yea! i completely forgot about
that entire purchase thing, but
isn't Cisco a good brand? Or don't
they at least care for LinkSys? *tear*

Mmm, nope, probably not. There's nothing quite like buying out the competition then tarnishing its name so people will like you more. Of course Cisco picked the wrong target cause most geeks that buy their products know better.
