TennCare, no dental
Well, I'm pretty much screwed. While at the human services department I mentioned dental work and, the lady wasn't sure but did confirm, it turns out they don't cover dental work once you're over 18. I do have an appointment to finish up the health care coverage stuff for any other work I might need done later.

Looks like I'm at the mercy of the dentist's financing now. I have to get ready for class now, but I'll call around tomorrow and see who offers what at what prices and schedule an appointment. I also need to go take another Ibuprofen, so I'm going to take care of all that now.

Is there a dental college nearby?

Umm.... Wait, the lady did mention there's a dental college in Memphis. Is that a big deal? I'm assuming the catch is they use you as a guinea pig so you get your work done for free? hmm...

Free or cheap.
You do get used as the guinea pig, but they don't just put you in there with someone who has no clue what they're doing. And a good school will have the real dentist teach guy in there as well.

PS: Memphis is two hours south of here.

I'd drive two hours for free dental work. That's still a huge savings.

I think what I'm going to do is see about a checkup and diagnosis locally then maybe call the dental school to see what they can do for me. A checkup and diagnosis shouldn't cost more than 50 - $100, no?

Makes sense.

If I need wisdom teeth pulled, definitely. My sister was quoted $400 per tooth, and more if they have to cut into the gum to extract them.
