The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
Mario Party; Laptop; Roaming
Todd and I both agree: Mario Party 7 sucks. The delay time for the Mic is unbearable, and Bowser taking 20 coins from everyone every five turns makes it close to impossible for anyone to keep any coins. He keeps ruining the game economy. I very much prefer Mario Party 5's version of letting people hover around 50 to 100 coins. I would be very tempted to just buy Mario Party 5 except I really detest spending money I don't have to. Mario Party isn't a necessity or anything so I'll just wait on that.

One-hundred and Eighty-two. That's how much more I had to spend to make my initial investment into the laptop worth using. With that amount I bought a CardBus wireless adapter, the caddy for a CD/DVD drive, the actual CD/DVD drive, and an 80GB hard drive. Now the amount I have invested in the laptop is $482. On the other hand, that is better than wasting the original $300 and getting a brand new one for $500, making it a total of $800 put into a laptop without actually getting an $800 laptop. Provided nothing goes bad in the next year, I think I'll get a lot of mileage out of this laptop. (Yay! I have a laptop! Woo!)

I'm going to "borrow" my sister's PCMCIA wireless adaptor after I finish getting it up to date. As soon as the operating system itself gets done updating (Windows 2000 Professional) I'm going to install Firefox and a few extensions. Once that's done I'm going to go roaming with my laptop. :-)

If I have this right, Mario Party 5 was when they moved the game line from N64 to GC. Mario Party 6 introduced a day vs night feature that used the console's system clock to change the way the game played in the day time vs at night. Mario Party 7 introduced Microphone games where you speak into the microphone to do various commands. I've only seen a few of these mic games so I can't say too much, but they pretty much suck. There's always a second delay before it does whatever you said.

I never got to play many games on N64 so I didn't play any of the Mario Party line on there. As it is now I've only played Mario Party 5 and 7 on GameCube. I may see if I can rent Mario Party 6 eventually (it seems to always be checked out; you'd think they would get the hint and put more on the shelf!).

Eh. Yes and no. O.o Why the question?

We're not calling it that but that's essentially what it is. At the same time, I thought I had made it clear that right now we only had a short term relationship that may or may not be more long term. Every time I've *glees over typing on the laptop* Ahem... every time I've talked like we're in a short term relationship he gets distressed.

It's very complicated. He wants more than I do and I want more than he does, just in different directions.
