Summer of Code - Applications
And now I sit in dread.

I submitted my application for the MPTT idea a couple of hours ago. I then spent the next hour and a half reviewing the code for modules to get a better idea of what I was looking at. I still don't feel that I know all there is to know about modules (How do they communicate to each other? When are they initialized? In what order are they initialized? Is there a way to only run specific code if a certain module is installed?). I submitted the application for the Notification module about seven minutes ago. The application deadline is in less than two minutes now. I could have put more into the application but I cut that one close enough as it is.

And there went the application dead line.

Edit to Add: *twitches violently* They extended the deadline to the 9th at 11:00 PDT.
I guess that means I should delve into the code more and refine my application.

Gallery is in PHP. There are some Perl scripts here and there but for the most part everything is in PHP.

Some of the major coding features about Gallery are: Smarty templating, extensive unit tests, PHP 4 and 5 compatible classes, integrated module system (easily extendable without hacking the core code), database abstraction layer, ... and lots more.
