The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
The ball is in his court; "lifestyle" magazines
Honestly, I don't think he's going to call anymore. It's just... *shrug* Too good to be true? Yeah... Oh well. I'll probably check in a couple more times and maybe say something if I see him at my work again, but I guess that's it. He has my number now, after all, and knows where I work, so if he were interested then the ball is in his court.

Oh, here's an interesting tidbit I found out while "browsing" at Hastings. I haven't seen a single "gay" book and only half a dozen or so "gay" movies, but they have a dozen different "lifestyle" magazines.

define "gay" book for me, cause you must be looking in the wrong spot. You want a gay author? gay subject? what?

Hint: just cause a store has a pink fluffy "gay/lesbian/bi" section -- that isnt where books that you actually read rather than "discover yourself" with are. Go to the fiction section. Do a little research on some authors so you dont have to read the back of everything.

Off the top of my head, Anne Rice's son Christopher has written several books. I read "a density of souls" it was OK, and I heard that "The snow garden" was good. (he is gay and Density at least, had some themes)

I want something with a gay subject, or at least sub-plot.

As far as non-fiction goes, something to glance through about relationships, lifestyles, guides, etc would be nice. With fiction, though, I want something with a gay character or sub-text.

I have actually read "A Density of Souls", a long time ago at the Gonzales library. It's an interesting read, for sure. What I'd really like are more books like "The Last Herald Mage" where the gay element isn't the primary focus, but is prevailing instead of just hinted at or mentioned in passing.

re: nonfiction

what sort of "guide" are you meaning here? Tips and tricks or something psychological? The "sexuality" section can do a lot of explaining into this, just avoid the numerous "how to" books. Again, the actual "glbt" section usually manages to tick me off, but maybe you have more patience to avoid "x star now gay, reveals all" crap.

re: fiction

I'll see what I can do as far as books -- but once I get home, i can give you 2 really good online novella type things. I dont have the web addresses at work, obviously.

(theyre works in progress, one is futuristic, called "the Node" by Nekonexus on my friends list -- and another is an oriental themed one called "court of eternity", should you care to prowl for them)
