Time to get out again
Well, sitting here getting nothing accomplished isn't doing me any good. I'm going to get some clothes on and get out of the house. I guess I'll check out that bowling alley after all.

Edit to Add: On a recent entry in gay_sex_tips, someone asked what personals sites people would recommend. A couple of the first comments recommended just getting out in "real life" and finding gay people. Ok, so where in "real life" would you go look for gay guys if you can't go to any of the gay bars or clubs? I've posed that question to one of the people who said that and am waiting to see what they recommend.

There must be a local gay community there that puts out a monthly rag isn't there? There's one in Portland, after all…then again, Portland isn't Las Vegas.

Thank you! That helped put me on the right track to find some gay social events. There's a local gay center or whatever that has a calender online. They have an event called "G-Men" on Friday evenings that I've added to my calender.

Good luck! I think it takes a certain amount of guts to be willing to put it out there when you're in a new place but it's probably the best way to at least begin to get to know 'the neighbors'.

Many larger towns (especially ones with colleges) usually have some kind of Pride or Alliance organization in the area.
