I have two answers, one silly, one serious. Which one would you prefer?

May I choose both? I always want to know the serious. I'd like to know the silly too. :-)

The serious: Communication and miscommunication.
The silly: Zombies!

The serious: Communication and miscommunication.

In some ways I communicate too much. I like to make things explicit. I don't leave much mystery on the table. Most people will say they want stable, "drama-free" friends but crave the attention and mystery.

On the other hand I often have trouble initiating a conversation. My brain is nearing dead by the time I get home most of the time. In that state I don't feel like thinking, and communicating always take thought. More so online because I have too much time to think and rethink and over-think about what I want to say. I'll often start writing something, get about 1/3 or 2/3 of the way through something, then go dead and toss the entire thing for failing to come to a decent finish or feeling like I mixed subjects between paragraphs.

The silly: Zombies!

Zombies... I can't say I really understand the interest in zombies. They certainly have an interesting disposition for their craving of brains, but rarely is the reason why given. Like an instinctual craving or thoughtless desire. Why do they moan? Do they have to be slow? Do evil masterminds have to go into a monologue about their plans or what drove them to take over the world? Wouldn't a psychologist have been a better person to babble to instead of the hero that's trying to stop them? Maybe the hero shouldn't do it out of the goodness of their heart or for revenge, but instead of simple annoyance or happenstance? Why do evil doers team up to begin with; for one to take over the world they would have to get rid of each other first. Never mind the hero; go take a vacation, the enemy will solve their own problem.

Hmm... what happened to Zombies? Oh, right. Space zombies. They'd have to have brains, though, to operate the space ship or keep the space station from falling apart. Space implies science, too, so then we define it as a disease. Can it be airborne, like a cold or flu? Can the body fight it? What if there were so many strains of 'zombie' disease that the body could fight? It would be like calling in to work with the zombie disease. "Yeah, someone gave me the zombie yesterday. I'll be in tomorrow."

the poly meetup

... I screwed up. It didn't happen. :(

It was supposed to be at 5pm at the usual Saturday 'poly' game night location. An email went out just before noon saying the time had changed to 2pm. Only the subject line stated the new time and I missed it, so I dismissed the email simply as a reminder for the 5pm meeting time. I showed up at 4:50 (figured I would get something to eat before the majority of people started showing up) to find only a few people left. On the other hand none of the bi guys who had RSVP'ed had actually showed up so no salt on that wound.

The meeting information originated on the meetup.com meeting group but I was only getting my information from the polyvegas mailing group. I'm now a member of the meetup group so I'll try again next month. They're changing the location to the west side and I haven't checked if the new location is within range of my transportation yet.

Your upcoming trip to San Francisco. :)

It looks like it may be changing dates a little. The main event on the east coast that I was going to expand may be moving. It's still three months out so they haven't decided for sure yet.

I don't have anything specific in mind so I'm hoping to find someone who can show me some of the sights in the area. I hear it has a lot of cultural areas that would be nice to see. One person has mentioned the Castro district, among others. I'm not big on clubs, though, so that won't be the highlight of my visit.

You wouldn't happen to know anyone, would you? ;-)
