short answer: no

That's a bit of a tall order. Even as an active user of both LJ and Facebook, and still a semi-active user of MySpace, I know a LOT of people who opt out of all social network and blogging. Some of them really are datable, too.

The extra context is nice, but does it really matter that much?

Re: short answer: no

The context isn't so much the goal as the type of personality that goes along with it. I'm finding more and more that people who have private journals or write very very vague entries are trying to hide things. They're less open about communication and understanding other people. They tend to want things their way and no other. Which is all fine and well for them, but I have to look out and avoid them for my own sake.

I'm over generalizing by saying people without journals aren't eligible. I might be disappointed a little that I won't be able to share the medium, but in the end I won't hold it against them. It just takes longer to figure out which side of the coin they fall on in regards to willingness to communicate.

It seems like an interesting attribute because the ex-boyfriends I got along with the best were also active LiveJournal users. I've found virtually no LiveJournal users local lately and have also had no serious long-term boyfriends either. Seems like a correlation by now.

Re: short answer: no

It's an interesting observation and one probably worth watching.

Re: short answer: no

I can appreciate the logic behind it in the case of people who use the LJs they have for cryptic, non-sharing sorts of stuff. I can definitely see how that indicates an undesirable personality type.
