The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
A waiter
If your waiter puts out the check after ordering but before the food arrives is that a hint they want you gone? I've gone there twice before so I may have already established a pattern.

I chickened out and didn't ask him out. Instead I left my name and number on the back of the receipt. Even though he served me it was the other server behind the bar that took my payment. That could get confusing.

I'm beginning to think I may have been mistaken. It happens all the time so it wouldn't be the first time. I highly doubt I'll get a response, but at least I tried. I'll have to try a little more often and with a little more creativity.

Current Mood: thoughtful

It's not a hint for anything, some places just do that. It's less formal, but it can be a way to avoid later confusion if there's a rush or something.

Perhaps. He did seem a bit busy and preoccupied.

I don't know. I'm trying to be spontaneous, but it's not easy. I'm still very much a shy introvert who is afraid. I'm chickening out of a lot of things.

One step at a time.
