Train Tripping: Destinations

The following dates, destinations, and activities have been set in stone or are fairly certain.

  • April 2 - 4
    • Boston, MA
    • Anime Boston
  • April 30 - May 2
    • Troy, MI
    • Penguicon
  • May 19 - 20
    • San Francisco, CA
    • Google I/O
  • July-ish
    • Chicago, IL
    • GameHavoc Gathering
(Edit: Looks like no Chicago gathering this year) :(
  • September 3 - 6
    • Atlanta, GA
    • Dragon*Con

I'm going to try to fit the following destinations in there as well, although no dates or order has been assigned yet.

  • Washington, DC
  • Cincinnati, OH
  • Cleveland, OH
  • Chicago, IL
  • Ann Arbor, MI
  • Seattle, WA
  • Portland, OR

I'm thinking the gaping hole in June or August would be a good time for a cruise. Or maybe an international destination, perhaps London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, or Paris? Hmm... possibilities.

A handy little visualization of the highlights of where I'd like to go: My Google Maps: Train Tripping

Would you like me to visit your town? Am I going to be in your town and you want to meet up? Don't be shy, let me know! :-)

Sad to see you are leaving before my birthday. Dragon con is fabulous. One of my all time favorite conventions.

I'll miss you and everyone else I've gotten to know while I was here. I'll try to stop by every so often to say hi. :-)

That's the only one I haven't signed up for just yet, but I'll probably go ahead and do it within the next few days then figure out the mechanics of actually getting there, etc.

I'd love to visit Toronto! It's only a small hop and a skip away from Boston so if I have my passport already and a place to stay when I get there I could probably drop by for a visit. :-)

I've heard good things about it.

I have yet to be outside of the country beyond a brief touchdown in a border town of Canada near Alaska many years ago.

If it's a 1,000$ just to fly there I may hold off on it until I've established a money flow pattern for a couple of months while traveling around before taking the plunge. We'll see.

I live in Ann Arbor, and as long as I don't get an internship that starts super early I should be in town at the end of April/start of May. Give me a shout when the date gets closer.

Absolutely! I had you in mind when I listed Ann Arbor as cities to visit.
