The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
Really? Really? I mean... Really?
Yes, that is really a "joker" socialism T-shirt of Obama. His first poem was a "the next time you fist me with a trillion dollar check"... Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with his second one either (which didn't seem to have a subject or point other than "I'm missing something".

Don't get me wrong. I think there is some truth to it. But nowhere to the extent of anyone wearing those hateful shirts.

Good morning! :-P

Yeah, the second wasn't good enough to get him past the second round. They had everyone up, then five again (including him), then three.

Seeing as it was my first poetry slam I probably shouldn't speak, but I thought it was all really good. I'm going to have to find a local slam again some day.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know you said you weren't a big fan of poetry. Seattle has some of the best slam poets around. Maya and Morris (who is our house poet) are some of my favorites. You may get to meet Morris on Thursday.

Considering some of the stuff I heard here I could get to like poetry, at least this kind.

Last night they had a couple of poets from Boston who were traveling to a national(?) competition. I bought a CD from each of them rather than the books (words are dry; speech is vibrant).
