Outraged at cross-posting?
The outrage at LJ offering the ability to automatically cross-post comments between services is reaching outrageous levels, or possibly just hilarious (and sad) levels.

Look, if you believe people weren't manually doing that if they wanted then I have news for you. Now that they can do it automatically, possibly with just the click of a button, it really doesn't make much difference. Most people aren't going to cross-post comments because there'd be no context.

Then they're coming out with other scripts to 'disable' comment posting on their journal. Except all it does is hide the buttons from yourself. People can force it back or force their own style.

*shrug* Do what you will.

Exactly. And the big hubbub over it is just silly.

On the up side, this idiocy gave me the perfect excuse to dump several people i've been wanting to lose for a while off my friends list. I so hope we're done talking about it.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. After your post I haven't seen any further mention of it from my list, but I've seen it on numerous Friends of Friends posts. Too bad I can't easily remove them from that list. :-P

This is basically how I feel about it. I understand why people are angry, but I don't identify with it.
