The Autobiography of Russell
Life from a different perspective
Daily Confession
Despite driving a motorcycle, or regularly standing in front of people giving one presentation or another, I don't have nerves of steel. Nor am I an adrenaline rush junkie, as that just makes me more nervous any time I get a rush. The way I do it is by telling myself that this is what needs to be done and just do it.

Current Mood: okay okay

Jump out of a plane: fine.
Stand on top of a cliff face with a giant railing: nervous.
Presentation in front of hundreds of people: fine.
Interview with one person: nervous.
Public debate with public figure: fine.
Face-to-face argument with random political zealot: nervous.

In the opposite direction, arguing with my professors in class always got to me, but arguing with them in private didn't bother me at all. (The opposite seems to have been true of them, for some reason.)

Nerves are a silly thing.
