Beginning weekday workout: The plan and the cause
I've started a workout routine on the Wii Fit Plus. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I'll be doing both Yoga and Strength exercises but on Tuesday and Thursday I'll only be doing Yoga for the same amount of time. The plan is to bump up the time by 5 minutes each week until I'm doing 30 minute sessions similar to susandennis's gym routine. I did a few days a couple of weeks ago, last week was 10 minutes, and yesterday was the first of this week's 15 minute workouts.

I'm also going to start watching what I eat, mostly not eating as much as I have been lately. Ben and I are doing salad for dinner this week, although we might look into other healthy options. I also had salad for lunch at work yesterday and will probably have again today. Might add some grilled chicken (or fish!) to the salad for some extra variety.

I'm also cutting soda and juice out of my diet. Once this last thing of juice is gone (of which I haven't been drinking much lately) I won't get any more for a while. For the past few weeks I've also been getting a soda or two at work, so no more of that. Just water and tea now.

I've started this because I let my weight go, hit over 170, can see a notable stomach gut (with minor sides!), and I don't like it. At all. My goal is to be under 150 again, although if I can get closer to 140 or 130 then I'll be even happier. I'm not aiming for a six pack or ultra-ripped muscles of any sort.

Congrats on the plan! A rule that I picked up in spiritual stuff seems to apply to physical exercise, too: change it up every six months so you don't get bored. I'm accumulating a small collection of yoga and dance videos so school doesn't make me into a mound of hairy white flesh gurgling about community psychology.
