It's all the little inconsideratenesses that teach me there will never be world peace or any other kind of utopia. Like yesterday, I was about to go through an entry door behind a woman, and she knew I was right behind her, but she didn't bother to hold the door at all.

If holding open a door, or pulling back a chair, or whatever, was all, we might still have a chance. It's that on top of everything else that leaves one wonder just what people were taught.

Was the door to a restricted or carded area? I'm assuming not. I haven't had this happen yet, but being the new guy at work I don't really know anyone, so I'm paranoid about someone following me into the building who isn't supposed to be there, and I wouldn't know it. So the only way to avoid that is to slam the door in their face, hold back until they go through first (reverse positions so they slam the door in my face?), or stand in the door until the access terminal resets and ask them to swipe their access key. o.O
